FIELD: catalysts for organic syntheses. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to preparing improved catalysts for synthesis of carboxylic acid alkenyl esters from alkenes, carboxylic acids, and oxygen-containing gas. Catalysts contain palladium, gold, potassium promoter and are characterized by reduced content of sodium. The latter is achieved by (i) preparing catalyst using practically sodium-free reactants, (ii) washing catalyst with water or aqueous solution of potassium promoter after catalyst has been impregnated with the latter, and (iii) washing catalyst at a certain step of its preparation with cation-exchange solution.
