FIELD: chemical treatment of surface from magnesium alloys, particularly, methods of application of protective coatings by method of local reduction. SUBSTANCE: method includes removal of oxides from article surface, degreasing with alkali solution with subsequent application of protective coating from solution containing, g/l: NaH2PO4 40-100; NH4H2PO4 120-180; (NH4)2SO3 5-20; Mg(OH)2 5-15; the balance, water. Chemical deposition of coating is carried out at temperature of 15-35 C for 1-5 min. Degreasing is made with alkali solution ES-NAFTOL or with solvent in form of acetone or nefras; thickener aerosil is additionally introduced into aqueous solution. pH of offered solution is 3.0-5.0. EFFECT: developed method of deposition of protective coating with high corrosion resistance and adhesive, and protective properties relative to paint coatings at low temperature, short duration of coating deposition applicable in repair and in course of operation with damaged coatings on machine parts and assembly units from magnesium alloys. 4 cl, 3 tbl
