FIELD: pulp-and-paper industry. SUBSTANCE: method involves introducing into basic pulp ground waste paper cationic starch soluble in cold water at replacement extent of 0.03-0.07 for 4-20 min until pulp is diluted with return water; adding cationic polyacrylamide with molecular weight of 5-9•106, with diluted waste mass milling extent exceeding milling extent thereof at the initial stage of sheet molding by 2-6 deg (Shopper-Riegel pulp freeness). Method allows complex of paper and cardboard characteristics, such as pressure resistance and planar compression resistance. EFFECT: reduced consumption of cationic starch, increased efficiency of papermaking and cardboard making machines. 3 cl, 3 ex
