FIELD: geological and electric prospecting, determination of average laying depth of anomalous body extended in one direction and close by form to horizontal or slightly inclined formation. SUBSTANCE: clearly vertical anomalous component of magnetic field is measured by means of induction differential plant. First this plant is employed to profile and find projection of boundary of anomalous body on ground surface. Then geophone is installed in one of obtained extreme points of profile and differential sounding is conducted. Curve of dependence of vertical component of magnetic field on distance between geophone and magnetic dipoles is constructed. Depth is established by way of comparison of constructed curve with set of pallet curves. EFFECT: increased accuracy of establishment of occurrence depth of ore body. 5 dwg
