FIELD: cosmetics. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to composition for oxidative staining keratin fibers, in particular, human keratin fibers, such as hair, comprising in suitable medium at least one oxidizing dye and, except for, the combination comprising the following components: (1) at least one saturated alcohol with above twenty carbon atoms and, possibly, (II) one or some saturated alcohols with twenty carbon atoms, not above; (III) at least one hydroxyalkylated non-ionic surface-active substance with hydrophilic-lipophilic balance value above 5 and, possible, (IV) one or some surface-active substances with hydrophilic-lipophilic balance 5 or below in the weight ratio [(III)] / [(I) + (II) + (IV)] = 1 or less. Invention relates also to method for staining using the indicated composition. Invention provides preparing ready for usage compositions for oxidative staining without their draining down and they can be easily applied on keratin fibers and ensure to obtain stable color (bright) tones with low selectivity and good stability with respect to chemical reagents or to natural effects and to confer good cosmetic properties to hair.
