FIELD: methods of testing for nonsparking of chemical current sources of explosion-proof electrical equipment applicable in gassy and dusty mines and in explosion- hazardous rooms of enterprises of chemical oil, gas an other industries. SUBSTANCE: method includes switching of chemical current sources with electromotive force less than minimal voltage of arc firing in explosion chamber and determination of probability of ignition of explosive tested mixture. Connected to chemical current source is series resistor with rated inductance, and formed electric circuit is closed and voltage oscillogram is determined on series resistor. Said oscillogram is used to determine maximum current of short circuit and inductance of chemical current source. Magnetic energy of chemical current source is determined. Chemical current source is selected with same electromotive force and higher capacitance, and its inductance is determined. Then, connected to it is reference onmic resistance and inductance to provide for congruence of magnetic energies in both chemical current sources and current intensity of chemical current source of larger capacitance of not exceeding 2.0A. Then, formed electric circuit of chemical current source of large capacitance is connected to sparking mechanism of 1st type of explosion chamber filled with activated explosive mixture, and circuit in explosion chamber is switched, and probability of ignition of explosive mixture is determined.
