FIELD: safeguard equipment, applicable at protection of open territories against an unauthorized access of people. SUBSTANCE: the device for detection of a trespasser at an attempt to cross the border-line of a restricted area consists of remote receivers of seismic signals located along the contour, connected to the central equipment of the observation post through an extended cable. The remote receivers include seismic sensors, for example, geophones with a principal sensitivity to the vertical component of vibrations of the seismic field and amplifiers. The equipment of the observation post, beside the frequency filter within 5 to 100 Hz includes the systems of detection of a break and a short-circuit fault in the cable cores, and the remote receivers-diodes for protection against accidental errors at a connection and repair. The above monitoring, protection, as well as the supply of electric power to the amplifiers in the remote receivers do not need additional cable cores. The two-row installation of seismic receiver along the contour makes it possible to determine the side from which the trespasser approaches the contour, and their location in the vertices of an isosceles rectangle whose leg is in parallel with the border-line - the angle between the direction to the target and the contour line. The trespasser is detected as a result of successive procedures of frequency filtration - first within 5 to 100 Hz, and then in narrower band typical for the given specific locality.
