FIELD: cleaning metal surfaces from highly toxic agents, from unsymmetrical dimethylhydrazine in particular. SUBSTANCE: proposed method consists in removal of residue of dimethylhydrazine in water bringing concentration of solution to 0.05-0.1 mass-%; then solution thus obtained is treated with ozone for 7-13 hours and water is additionally saturated with ozone to concentration of 3.3-3.4 mg/l; treatment of surface is effected at rate of 0.5-1.0 cu m/h for 2.5-3 hours. Device proposed for realization of this method has reservoir 1, liquid mixing units 13 and 25, catalytic apparatus 21 and ozonizer 8. Catalytic apparatus 21 is connected with gas cavity 2 of reservoir 1 and with atmosphere and ozonizer 8 is connected with liquid cavity 3 of reservoir 1 by means of pipe line 11. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of cleaning including neutralization of highly toxic agents at enhanced ecological safety. 6 cl, 5 dwg, 2 tbl _
