FIELD: pulp-and-paper industry. SUBSTANCE: method involves producing filtering material from mixture of cellulose and synthetic filaments, including thermally fusible materials, by molding web; providing thermal pressing of web between hot surfaces in individual points, with distance between said points being less than length of synthetic filaments. Thermal pressing is carried out by means of calendar or press between two hot surfaces, with one of surfaces being covered with metal net. EFFECT: increased passage capacity, improved mechanical strength and water repellency of filtering material. 1 tbl
