FIELD: paper-and-pulp industry. SUBSTANCE: invention, in particular, relates to filter paper used as sorbing layer when manufacturing protective material against corrosive air media. Paper sheet made from a mixture of sulfate cellulose with activated carbon and sizing agent precipitated on fibers is impregnated with solution of silica sol until the latter increases weight of sheet by 10-12%. EFFECT: increased sorption capacity and strength both in dry and wet state. 1 tbl
