FIELD: mining, particularly, problem of hydrocarbon recovery from coal seams. SUBSTANCE: method includes countercurrent moving of combustion center over artificial collector in seam in form of bore or slots of hydraulic fracturing with use only of air blast at air flow rate of 500-1600 cu.m/h. Monitoring of combustion center location is effected by relationship l=Wt, where l is length of thermally processed district of collector, m; t is duration of collector thermal processing, h; W is speed of countercurrent motion of combustion center, m/h.
