FIELD: electrical engineering; electrical machines with means for augmenting heat transfer in cooling ducts of core. SUBSTANCE: generator stator core has its adjacent stacks of laminations separated by plurality of radial spacer blocks and each adjacent pair of spacer blocks forms cooling ducts together with adjacent laminations separated toward axis. Novelty is that each cooling duct accommodates plurality of vortex generators each provided with lug in mentioned duct at least on one side of mentioned adjacent laminations separated toward axis. Proposed design provides for reducing temperature differential between stator windings and cooling-gas temperature, reducing stray losses for cooling gas transfer and for fully passive way of augmenting heat transfer.
