FIELD: ecology; neutralization of soil contaminated with oil or petroleum products; restoration of soil fertility. SUBSTANCE: proposed method consists in application of sorbent on contaminated soil. Used as sorbent is oil sludge containing oxides of zinc, magnesium, aluminum and organic part in form of mineral oil. Oil sludge contains oxides of zinc, magnesium, aluminum and organic part at the following relationship of components, mass-%: zinc oxide, 2.5-3.8; magnesium oxide, 1.2-1.22; aluminum oxide, 63.98-68.3; organic part, 28-31; organic part contains alkylbenzenes, indenes, phenanthrenes and mononaphthenes at the following relationship of components, mass-%: alkyl-benzenes, 81-85; indenes, 1-4; phenanthrenes, 3-6; mononaphthenes, 5-15.
