FIELD: electrical engineering; advanced class of making ferreed contacts (reed relays). SUBSTANCE: device that can be used as operating threshold sensor, for instance in motorcar seat cushion protecting against external impact loads such as small road defects (pits, scours, rail crossings, and the like) has special ferreed contact or reed relay used as operating threshold sensor that has glass cylinder; two ferreed contact members sealed at one end of the latter form normally closed pair and fixed contact member is sealed on its other end so that normally closed and normally open contact pairs are spaced apart through cylinder length and are disposed on open end of movable contact member provided with large arm whose loose end forms normally open pair. Conditions for opening normally closed contact pair due to external impact loads are improved as movable contact incorporating large arm does not meet any obstacles when bending. In addition provision is made for varying geometric dimensions of ferreed contact, stiffness of contact members, contact pressure of normally closed pair, and by varying normally open pair separation with aid of magnetic field by adjusting response of operating threshold sensor of motor-car safety cushion to acceleration of external impact load in compliance with equation given in description of invention. EFFECT: enhanced operating reliability due to preventing malfunctions in overcoming small road obstacles. 2 cl, 4 dwg
