FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrical equipment, in particular, to design of magnetically operated sealed contacts, and may be used in industrial production of these instruments. A magnetically operated contact comprises a glass balloon, at the ends of which there are round outlets of ferromagnetic contact parts tightly sealed, free ends of which with width "b" at the flattening thickness "h" are separated with a gap in the area of their mutual overlapping with a value "a". Besides, in each contact part, within the ratio of 0.8≤"a"/"h"<2, from 50% to 100% of the contacting surface limited with the area of the rectangle with sides ("b" - "h" ) and "a", consists of sections of surface of volume nitriding with thickness of the nitrided layer of up to 80 nm.
EFFECT: invention provides for low and stable electric resistance, high corrosion resistance and improved microhardness without use of precious metals in contact coatings.
