METHOD OF WATERPROOF THREAD JOINT FORMATION Russian patent published in 2003 - IPC

FIELD: clothing manufacture of light industry, particularly, manufacture of special waterproof clothes: suits for fishermen, oilmen, miners, operating in inundated mines, washers of large vessels, car washing-stop operators, and articles of special application: tents, protective covers from materials with polymer coatings. SUBSTANCE: sealing material is used in form of two-sided self-gluing film based on acrylate latexes 0.2-0.3 mm thick. Said film is located between joined layers and supplied in course of formation of thread seam, with pressure in contact zone of 0.7-0.8 kgf/sq.cm. For increase of sealing of seams of some structures, aqueous dispersion of acrylic copolymers is additionally applied to surface of thread stitching in course of sewing. EFFECT: higher efficiency due to reduced seam rigidity with preserved its strength, increased stability of sealed seam to multicycle deformations after performed combined surface-infraseam sealing. 2 cl, 2 dwg, 2 tbl
