FIELD: agricultural engineering. SUBSTANCE: apparatus has header with winder and cutter bar. Header is hung onto inclined chamber of combine equipped with threshing unit, cleaning device, bin, straw shaker, additional threshing device, grinder, and straw spreader. Header has additional grinder with equally spaced sectional mowers arranged in vertical plane. Mowers are positioned for following soil profile. Header is provided with stalk height sensor made in the form of upright rack having retainer. During advancement of combine in the field, upper part of stalk with ear is cut off by means of cutter bar and threshed. Threshed grain is delivered into bin and chaff is directed into vehicle. Stubble remained on field is cut in staged manner by means of sectional mowers of additional grinder and laid onto field. Layer of ground stalks is adapted for protecting field from erosion and enriching soil with organic substance. EFFECT: increased efficiency, enhanced reliability in operation and improved erosion control. 4 dwg
