FIELD: agriculture.
SUBSTANCE: method involves directing stalks to cutter bar; cutting plants and transporting into threshing unit for cob threshing; moving combine transverse to plant rows at the ratio of circumferential velocity of two-blade winder to progressive velocity of combine of 2.54. Plants are cut as they are led to cutter bar. Apparatus has casing with sides and bottom, shoes and winder with two blades. Winder blades are made in the form of rake fingers covered with planks. Winder drive is connected with combine drive wheel. Cutter bar is positioned at an angle to rows of plants to be cut. Shoes designed for adjustment of shear height are provided with detachable soil levelers having double-sided moldboard surface and grip having width exceeding wheel width.
EFFECT: reduced losses of corn cob during mowing of corn stalks by combine header.
