FIELD: machine engineering, namely treating metals by ultrasonic forging, possibly manufacture of blades with enhanced technological operational characteristics and formation of cutting edges with small thickness. SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of shaping plate with end having convex rounded cross section; then deforming above mentioned end of plate by ultrasonic forging between cone surfaces of strikers; simultaneously moving plate relative to axes of strikers crosswise for forming wedge-shaped blade on said plate; rounding end of plate by rolling, grinding or squeezing ribs of plate in die set; rounding end of plate by radius whose value is in range (0.3 - 0.7)t where t - thickness of plate.
