FIELD: mining operations applicable, for instance, in breakage of outside stones and boulders, structures from brick, concrete cutting of dimension stones and stone blocks, tunneling, in useful mineral mining and mining of precious and semiprecious stones. SUBSTANCE: gas generator includes body accommodating combustible reagent which is made in form of device with through channels oriented along its axis. Thickness of said channel wall is characterized by relationship according to which this value is selected as quotient from division of product of experimental coefficient by bulky density (for loose material) or true density (for liquid) of used oxidizer by product of density combustible reagent material by stoichiometric ratio between weight of oxidizer and combustible agent, and area of channel cross-section is equal to product of experimental coefficient by squared thickness of channel wall. In this case, oxidizer to combustible reagent ratio ranges from 3 to 50. EFFECT: reduced labor input in manufacture of gas generator with higher its efficiency. 12 cl, 12 dwg
