METHOD OF MASSIVE WORK ALIGNMENT AT MACHINING POSITION Russian patent published in 2003 - IPC

FIELD: metal machining by cutting, particularly, methods of installation of large-sized heavy works, mainly, on work tables of metal-cutting machine tools. SUBSTANCE: method includes installation of work with its bearing surface on auxiliary supports regulated in height and located on machine tool table. Use is made of three auxiliary supports located near to edges of work bearing surface under conditions of maximum sagging in definite places; alignment of each sagging work part distant from auxiliary supports by means of support regulated in height; bringing of measuring heads in contact with work bearing surface in places of location of auxiliary supports regulated in height and readings of measuring head installed in place of location of regulated support are initially registered. In alignment, sagging part of work, first, is raised to position at which reading of one of measuring head installed in places of location of auxiliary supports begins to change, and in this position, reading of said measuring head is registered again, and then, lowered through value equaling half of difference between the first and second readings of measuring head. EFFECT: reduced labor input, higher accuracy of alignment directly on machine tool table of, both, parts on intermediate operations and of nonmachined works without limiting their dimensions and weight. 3 dwg
