FIELD: agriculture. SUBSTANCE: apparatus has box 1 comprising walls, which may be increased in height as plants grow. Supporting poles 2 are mounted on box bottom and tray 4 with drain openings 5 is superposed on poles 2. Poles 2 are filled with porous capillary material 3 facilitating upward conveyance of liquid. Ground 10 for plant growing is placed onto tray. Wicks 6 are attached in the vicinity of drain openings 5 for enabling supplying of moisture from lower part of box 1 into ground 10. Discharge openings with stopper 7 are formed in box 1 near bottom. Vertical filling pipe 8 adjoins to box walls for supplying water into box lower part. Air exchanging and excessive water discharge openings 11 are formed in upper part of box walls. Additional section of wall 9 may be joined to upper part of box for increasing its height. Wall sections are attached by means of petals bent to opposite sides. Apparatus is used for growing of house plants, food crops etc in dwelling houses, offices, greenhouses and in open air.
