FIELD: measurement technology. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to testing facilities, namely to machine for tensile testing of specimens. Proposed tester contains load-bearing bed frame made in form of base and fixed crossmember intercoupled by columns, movable crossmember and movable crossmember motion mechanism made in form of two pairs of screw drives whose lead screws are installed in load-bearing frame on bearings and nuts are arranged in movable crossmember and connected with the latter by bolts. Tester contains also grips secured on movable crossmember and on dynamometric transducer. Two pairs of screw drives are arranged symmetrically relative to axis of grips, each can be considered as main or additional. Lead screws have opposite direction of helix and are mechanically interconnected to provided relatively opposite direction of rotation which should be effected simultaneously at equal speed. EFFECT: redistribution of test loads between lead screws, relieving screws and columns from action of radial forces. 2 cl, 3 dwg
