FIELD: well logging; applicable in exploration and petroleum geophysics. SUBSTANCE: borehole geometry tool has body with hinged measuring spring-loaded lever, converter of mechanical motion of lever into electric signal. Said converter is made in form of magnetometer with permanent magnet. Several independent measuring levers are located uniformly over circumference of body external surface. Each measuring lever is connected, by means of movable hinge installed in measuring lever recess, to its auxiliary lever hinged to body external surface, and connected with its converter of mechanical motion into electric signal. Each measuring lever is spring-loaded by torsion kinematically connected to it. Torsion is installed along body longitudinal axis. Attached to torsion movable end is permanent magnet. Installed coaxially to permanent magnet is magnetosensitive member of converter. EFFECT: more accurate measuring of well cross-section; determination of its shape and sizes. 2 cl, 1 dwg
