FIELD: repairing blocks or sleeves of cylinders of internal combustion engines and compressors. SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of working surface by means of head having nozzle for feeding powdered metal with antifriction properties supplied through central duct; in order to enhance quality of coating and to improve efficiency of applying powder for restoring worn surface by 0.05 - 2 mm, preliminarily cleaning worked surface by means of air flow; using head for melting powder of applied coating having two quartz incandescence lamps between which nozzle is placed, turning cutter and ball for rolling out layer applied onto worked surface, ejector accelerators for creating air flow and accelerator driven to rotation by means of ejector accelerators and designed for applying pressure to ball and to cutter. Apparatus includes central duct for feeding to nozzle powdered metal with antifriction properties. In order to achieve desired technological result, apparatus is provided with cutter and ball, mechanisms for feeding them, quartz incandescence lamps between which nozzles are placed, ejector accelerators for rotating accelerator designed for creating by means of fins air flow for blowing worked surface and applying pressure acting upon mechanisms for feeding cutter and ball in order to force them to worked surface. Other apparatus is provided with shot blasting installation having head with several vertically shifted rows of nozzles arranged along circles of different diameters. Head for applying coating may be mounted on upper cross piece of shot blasting installation. Third apparatus is provided with shot blasting head having head with several vertically shifted rows of nozzles arranged on circles of different diameters. Tail spindle is mounted on upper cross piece; head for applying coating is mounted in said tail spindle.
