METHOD OF BAROMETRIC DETERMINATION OF ELEVATION OF DEVICE FOR ITS REALIZATION Russian patent published in 2003 - IPC

FIELD: ground navigation equipment. SUBSTANCE: method can find use in determination of elevation in unspecified point of route of movement relative to starting point on vehicle or any other ground mobile object while conducting geodetic, topographic and other types of survey both in movement and at stop. Method consist in consistent measurement in starting and each intermediate points of route of atmospheric pressure and air temperature, in processing of measurement results with establishment of elevation in each intermediate point of route. Atmospheric pressure is measured by means of pressure transducer prior to start of movement of ground mobile object at stop, at starting point of route in the course of certain time. Obtained values of atmospheric pressure are entered into storage. Time period spent to record values of atmospheric pressure is measured by means of timer. From start of movement recording is terminated. Average rate of change of atmospheric pressure is calculated by values of atmospheric pressure entered into storage, correction to measured atmospheric pressure and elevation in each point of route is computed by corresponding formulas. Correction to measured value of atmospheric pressure and elevation are determined in each point of route with the help of computer right aboard ground mobile object in real time both during movement of ground mobile object and at stop. Device measuring elevation includes atmospheric pressure transducer, air temperature transmitter, computer, storage, movement transmitter and timer properly interconnected. EFFECT: increased measurement accuracy of elevation, reduced cost of equipment, generation of information on present value of elevation in real time right aboard of ground mobile object in process of movement and at stop. 2 cl, 1 dwg
