FIELD: instrument engineering, applicable in instruments for determination of co-ordinates and for terrain orientation of a human-being walking on front. SUBSTANCE: instrument operation is based on measurement at every step of the azimuth angle of movement direction and step length with generation of information for determination of co-ordinates and for terrain orientation. The instrument has an angular orientation unit, movement transducer, computer, control panel, display unit, acoustic radiating element, delayed pulse shaper and a timer. The first control output of the computer and the output of the movement transducer are connected to the first and second inputs of the shaper trigger respectively, whose first and second outputs are connected respectively to the correction input and trigger input of the angular orientation unit, whose readiness output and information outputs are connected to the interrupt input and the first data inputs of the computer. The timer inputs and outputs are connected respectively to the control outputs and second data inputs of the computer, whose second control output is connected to the input of the acoustic radiating element, and the data outputs are connected to the inputs of the display unit and control panel whose output is connected to the control input of the computer. EFFECT: enhanced accuracy of measurement of angles of the movement direction, distance covered and the co-ordinates of the human-being, reduced power consumption. 2 cl, 2 dwg
