FIELD: oil producing industry; applicable in development of oil pools at various stages of development. SUBSTANCE: method includes oil withdrawal through producing wells, water injection through injection wells, detection of wells producing extraneous water, elimination of inflow of this water and putting on production of this wells. Method is distinguished by the fact that said wells are detected by system method. For this purpose, actual dynamics of oil recovery for period of operation is compared with calculated dynamics produced on adapted geological- technological model for wells whose geological-oil field conditions do not predetermine possibility of their flooding with water of operated formation. Wells flooded with extraneous water are determined by value of excess of calculated oil recovery over its actual recovery. Volume of this water is evaluated. In wells with more than two fold excess of calculated oil recovery over its actual recovery, oil field-geophysical researches are carried out for detection of sources of flooding. Inflows of extraneous water are eliminated by repairs of wells with inflows of extraneous water proved by performed researches.
