FIELD: paper production. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to composition and its variants that can be sued as agents promoting to giving strength and dehydration properties in production of paper. Compositions comprise cation-active starch, cation-active galactomannan gum and acid. Starch among group including waxing ripeness corn starch, potato starch, corn starch, wheat starch and manioca starch are taken as starch source. Cation-active galactomannan gum is taken among group including cation-active hjuaric gum, carob-tree gum and fenugreek gum. Fumaric, citric, ascorbic, glycolic or lactic acids is used as acid source. Invention relates also to method (its variants) for enhancement of strength of paper article in dry and/or dehydrated state including preparing an aqueous suspension of paper mass, addition of above indicated composition to suspension of paper mass and preparing paper article as dry sheet.
