FIELD: power engineering; boilers of thermal power plants burning gaseous and pulverized fuel. SUBSTANCE: operating process of joint gaseous and pulverized fuel combustion in vertical tetrahedral prismatic furnace is improved by introducing gas, dust, and air flow through coaxial top and bottom burners installed on one of walls in the amount of at least one pair and by admitting air through nozzles disposed on abutting walls. For implementing this process fuel streams are fed from bottom burners to furnace with upward deflection from vertical plane and from bottom ones, downward relative to horizontally introduced air streams; air is admitted through nozzles over center of abutting walls and over horizontal exhaust plane of air streams from bottom burners. EFFECT: enhanced effectiveness of fuel combustion; reduced air consumption and nitric oxide concentration in stack gases . 1 cl, 8 dwg
