SUBSTANCE: invention relates to compositions used for skin care and containing gluconolactone and/or glucarolactone, retinal or retinoic acid, or retinal, or C₂-C₅- retinyl ester, or their mixtures and cosmetically acceptable carrier. Cosmetic emulsion "water-in-oil" comprises gluconolactone and/or glucarolactone and alpha-hydroxyacid of the general formula: MCH(OH)-COOH wherein M represents hydrogen atom or saturated or unsaturated, linear or branched hydrocarbon chain containing from 1 to 27 carbon atoms and cosmetically acceptable carrier.
