FIELD: plastic metal working, possibly manufacture of double-curvature articles from sheets and panels in creep mode. SUBSTANCE: apparatus for shaping portions of envelopes with smooth surface includes shaping chamber, working organs with mutually opposite drive units arranged outside shaping chamber. Each working organ has two deforming rods mounted coaxially with possibility of moving into shaping chamber at its both opposite sides; two linear motors, one motor is positioning, other motor is differential. Each motor has axially movable part mounted with possibility of reciprocation motion from motion source and supporting said deforming rod. Opposite drive units of working organs at each side of shaping chamber are realized as differential group drive system. Working organs are separated by similar groups; linear motors of each group are connected through common (for group) lines for transmitting motion of their axially movable parts with possibility of matching at shaping mode above mentioned groups for turning on with different phases and at other modes - with similar phases. Each group is divided by subgroups; subgroups of groups with different phases are arranged alternatively. Each subgroup has two single-row blocks arranged at opposite sides of shaping chamber. At least one linear differential motor of each working organ has device for normalizing shaping stroke of its axially movable part. Said device includes stationary stop for arresting motion of its axially movable part and movable limiter of its axially movable part provided with linearly moving member of rotation angle-to-motion converter; said stop and limiter are mutually joined through single-side transmission.
