FIELD: data transmission systems using power transmission lines as communication lines. SUBSTANCE: message for transmitting and receiving messages over power supply mains includes modulation of digital data signal by pseudorandom modulating train, modulation of carrier-frequency signal phase by means of signal obtained, transfer of this signal to power transmission line, reception of this signal, its multiplication by copy of pseudorandom pulses, time shift of pseudorandom modulating train by one time step depending on digital data signal value, storage of mentioned multiplication results, their comparison with threshold values determined by presence of signal corresponding to 1 or 0 transmission in digital data signal, and evaluation of transferred data value by results of mentioned comparison. Device implementing proposed method has on sending end carrier- and clock-frequency generator, pseudorandom modulating train generator, an phase keyer; on receiving end it has two multipliers, synchronizer, pseudorandom modulating train copy generator, two integrators, comparison circuit, delay circuit, and power mains connector.
