FIELD: machine engineering, possibly finishing-trimming and strengthening parts in free state. SUBSTANCE: tumbling drum is mounted on foundation of apparatus. Drum is in the form of multistart spiral column made at least of one strip bent along straight lines inclined relative to edges of strip for forming similar parallelograms arranged on strip alternatively at opposite sides. Strip is coiled to cylindrical turns mutually joined along their lengthwise edges for forming along outer surface unidirectional broken spiral lines and forming on inner surface spiral broken triangular pockets. EFFECT: simplified process for making apparatus, elimination of mutually opposite flows of parts, possibility for working low-rigidity parts, enlarged manufacturing possibilities. 8 dwg
