STABLE PHOTOLUMINOPHOR WITH LONG-LIVED AFTERGLOW Russian patent published in 2003 - IPC

Abstract RU 2217467 C2

FIELD: chemical industry, production of evacuation indicators and self- contained lighting equipment. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the science of materials and can be utilized at production of emergency and self-contained lighting equipment, evacuation indicators, sings for overalls, a highway lighting, advertising. The photoluminophor made on the basis of strontium boron aluminate activated by divalent ions of europium and coactivated by trivalent ions of the rare earth elements, containing at least one oxide of alkali metal, has the over-all formula where Ln - Dy or Nd; Me - Na, K, Li; x = 0.005-0.1; y = 0,005-0.1; z = 0.002-0.1; q = 0.005 - 0,1. Oxides of europium (III), dysprosium (III) and alkali metal are mixed with strontium carbonate, aluminum hydroxide and boric acid in the corresponding mole shares. The mixture is homogenated and loaded into a crucible, covered up with activated charcoal, put down a lid. Calcinate it at the temperature of 1320 C for 120 minutes. Than it is subjected to cooling and disperse. EFFECT: photoluminophor is hydrolytically stable, after 15 minutes excitation accumulates capability to emit light, sufficient for observation of afterglow within 15 h and more; duration of the photoluminescence fading exceeds 12 h. 2 tab, 22 ex
