FIELD: pulp-and-paper industry, in particular, manufacture of pressing webs for papermaking machine. SUBSTANCE: web has base structure formed as flattened massif composed of coils of multicomponent thread wound into spiral and adapted to be sewing. Flattened massif has two layers, two sides, length, width and two transverse edges. Multicomponent thread in each coil is substantially oriented lengthwise and connected with adjoining coils in each of two layers by means of fusible thermoplastic material. Multicomponent thread forms stitch loops along each transverse edge. At least one layer of staple fibrous material is attached to one of two sides of base structure by needle stitching through said two layers. According to other version, fabric is made of two spiral wound threads , with one of threads being multicomponent thread and other thread being adapted to be removed by solvent. Base of such structure allows weaving of full-sized fabric to be eliminated. EFFECT: reduced manufacture cost, provision for regulating of thickness compressibility, loose state and volume of voids by selecting number of thermally fusible yarns in multicomponent thread. 30 cl, 7 dwg
