FIELD: generating images on matrix gas-discharge displays. SUBSTANCE: for image generation during interval between connection of current cathode and next ones disposed between every other (central) cathode voltage much higher than discharge initiating value is applied to the latter for additional lighting up of pixels; at the same time pixels affording raster reproduction are engaged, total length of first, additional, and repeated engagements of pixels and current of the latter being chosen so as to ensure reliable reproduction and minimal brightness of raster.
