FIELD: electroplating; environmental protection. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to environmental protection, in particular, to utilization of the waste solutions of the electroplating productions. For realization of the method the chrome-bearing sewage or solutions are treated with a dry composition producing the water-free settling. At that the composition contains 0.1-80 % of a mixture of potassium bisulfite and sodium carbonate, 20-99.9 % of calcium oxide. Treatment is exercised using composition in amount of 200-400 g/l, and the formed product is subjected to metal-ceramic reduction up to producing metal chromium. The composition may contain 0.1-10 % of silicon oxide. EFFECT: the method ensures simplification of process, its cost reduction and increased efficiency of processing concentrated chrome-bearing drains with extraction of chromium in its metal state. 3 cl, 1 tbl
