FIELD: protective devices.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of radiation protection of living organisms and inorganic substances from damaging action of ionizing radiations in all industries, public health services, during various scientific researches. Method of radiation protection from ionizing radiation includes attenuation of X-ray and gamma-ray flux by screening substance due to scattering in substance, excitation of electronic shells and chemical activity of molecules, Compton effect of destruction of electron shells of atom and effect of formation of pairs exciting atomic nucleus. As screening substance there used is metallurgical dust and dried sediments-slurries after cleaning of flushing effluents of electroplating shops, containing accordingly oxides and hydroxides of heavy metals, mixed with cement and water till creamy consistence separately or in mixture with each other in any proportions with subsequent hardening.

EFFECT: invention makes it possible to expand the range of cheap raw materials for making shields which protect against ionizing radiation, as well as directions of utilization of metallurgical dust and galvanic slime containing heavy metals.
