METHOD OF AMELIORATION WORK Russian patent published in 2003 - IPC

FIELD: soil amelioration; applicable in draining of soil excessive moisture and demineralization of salt-saturated soils. SUBSTANCE: method includes making horizontal holes under fertile soil layer of given area, installation of perforated casings, location of filter medium round casings and performance of draining operations or demineralization. Drilled under selected area is, at least, one horizontal double-mouth hole. Installed into hole is perforated casing through which aqueous suspension of sand or mineral granules insoluble in water. Hole drilling is performed by means of drilling machine which includes rock-cutting tool in form of flat plate installed at angle to drill pipe string and telemetering system. The latter transmits to surface data on hole azimuth, angle of hole inclination to horizon and position of deflecting tool combined with rock-cutting tool. Formed additionally, for instance, opposite to water reservoir is underground barrier for localization of contaminations. For which purpose, one or several double- mouth horizontal holes located in vertical plane are drilled and perforated casings are installed in these holes, and space between them is cemented. EFFECT: provided effective amelioration measures aimed at rehabilitation of soils containing excessive water. 4 cl, 6 dwg
