FIELD: television engineering; open- or closed-circuit television systems. SUBSTANCE: proposed method provides for dispensing with full compatibility between black-and-- white and color television, brightness and color-difference signals being replaced by three chrominance signals using for them both transfer and compression of signal spectrum.
