FIELD: acceleration engineering. SUBSTANCE: induction accelerator designed to generate high-energy electron beams and to use energy of accelerated electrons for perioperative radiotherapy, industrial flaw detection, radiation tests of materials for stability, and the like has electromagnet with two acceleration gaps formed by two pole pairs, and two acceleration chambers; novelty is introduction of two pairs of equilibrium-orbit symmetrical expansion windings and two pairs of equilibrium-orbit asymmetrical expansion windings (sector windings), that poles are of ridge structure, azimuthal position of one pole pair relative to position of ridges on other pair being chosen so that poles are facing each other by ridge-to-ridge valleys and distance between outer edges of pole ridges in first and second gaps equals 1,5h±10%, where h is external-radius working gap height. Two accelerating chambers form single vacuum space with common outlet port. It is possible to use several such accelerators joined by means of vacuum channels P accommodating focusing systems L. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of electron beam outlet and on-line control of radiation field. 3 cl, 3 dwg
