FIELD: acceleration engineering. SUBSTANCE: device for realization of the method has betatron electromagnet 1 provided with pole tips 2, K pairs of sector windings with azimuthal and radial elements, disposed symmetrically about medium plane, acceleration chamber 3, injection system 4, synchronization system 5, current generator 8. At first additional azimuthal-periodic impulse magnetic field is generated. This field is sustained during periods of injection, trapping in acceleration mode and forming of the beam with amplitude which increases in proportional to basic magnetic field. Under influence of this magnetic field operating point B shifts from weak focusing area to strong focusing area. After forming of the beam is finished the amplitude of additional magnetic field is reduced to zero and operating point B is returned to weak focusing area by means of basic magnetic field which effects on electrons.
