METHOD FOR RAISING FISH IN POLYCULTURE Russian patent published in 2003 - IPC

FIELD: pond and pasture pisciculture. SUBSTANCE: ponds are divided into two groups: in the first group 2- year-old carps should be raised together with herbivorous fishes, simultaneously in the second group of ponds one should raise 2-year-old herbivorous fishes together with 3- year-old carps. In both groups of ponds one should provide the ratio of polyculture to the quantity of grass carp and particolored carp (hybrid) dominating against the carp. Fishing in ponds is carried out on the 3d - 4th decades before the end of vegetation period, predominantly at temperature decrease being below 18 C, after that 2-year-old herbivorous fishes are put into pasture ponds, 3-year-old carps are realized and 2-year-old carps are applied for further 3-year- long raising. At putting into the first group of ponds is necessary to apply 1-year-old fishes against polyculture, %: grass carp 30-40, particolored carp (hybrid) 30-40, carp 20- 30, and in the second group, %: 1-year-old grass carp 40-50, 1-year-old particolored carp (hybrid) 30-45, 2-year-old carp 12-15. At putting into the second group of ponds it is necessary that individual mass of 2-year-old carps should exceed that of 1-year-old herbivorous fishes by 15-30 times. The method enables to obtain large quantity of large fishplanting material of herbivorous fishes for pasture ponds at simultaneous production of table trade 3-year-old carps and, also, increase natural fish productivity of ponds and decrease expenses of fish fodders.
