SUBSTANCE: technical result of this method is increased metal utilization factor, enhanced wear resistance of tools, ensured width of temperature area of superplasticity, reduced process power intensity, achievement of required hardness of billet. For obtaining technical result, billet out of high-speed steel is heated up to deformation temperature of 760- 770 C and at this temperature plastic deformation is carried out under isothermal mode at the rate of 10-4-10-1 in the course of metastable transition with limiting degree of deformation of 92%.
