THREAD-ROLLING MACHINE Russian patent published in 2003 - IPC

FIELD: plastic metal working; particularly, equipment for rolling small threads during treatment of minor batches of articles, for instance, in auto repair shops, motor transport enterprises and service stations. SUBSTANCE: thread-rolling machine incorporates power portion including mechanical drive for synchronous rotation of two shafts with threading rolls and mechanism for opposing travel of these shafts during thread rolling, and thread rolling portion including two spindle heads, one of which is stationary, while the other is installed for movement; located in one plane and having key slots in zone of threading rolls placement, located in one phase, and support surfaces for longitudinal positioning of threading rolls, located in one plane. In so doing thread entry in both rolls is made in similar positions relative to key slots, and support knife for article whereon thread is to be rolled. For the aim of increasing accuracy of rolled thread, simplification and reduction of cost of thread-rolling machine the mechanical drive is made in the form of central shaft intended for installation of lathe with clamp in three-jaw chuck in front rigid and back rotary centers, and two similar bevel gears intended for connection of central shaft with shafts having threading rolls, one of these gears is installed on central shaft with movable fit. Thread rolling portion is made in the form of quick-replaceable attachment, in so doing its movable and stationary spindle heads are installed on central shaft and spring-loaded in-between for squeezing, with movable spindle head located on side of back center and intended for interaction with carriage of lathe for holding-down threading roll installed on it to article.
