FIELD: transport engineering; passenger car bodies. SUBSTANCE: proposed connecting unit contains body side consisting of rear fender 1, side inner panel 2 made integral with outer wheel arch 3 of rear wheel and side panels 4 forming pillar C. -shaped connector 5 is arranged in height from base of pillar C to outer wheel arch of rear wheel and it encloses, by its lower part, outer wheel arch of rear wheel and is connected with the latter by permanent joint. Connector is connected by front wall with surface of side panel, is connected with rear fender and side panel by bottom by permanent joint and is connected by permanent joint over flanges arranged on end faces of front and rear walls of connector with inner panel of side, forming closed box-section being extension of body pillar C.
