FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: proposed friction reinforcing member includes hold-down unit fitted in carrier made in form of shackle, satellite and disk with side friction surface and brake block. Carrier and central wheel are mounted in body of planetary gear mechanism. Disk with side friction surface is mounted coaxially and is rigidly connected with satellite. Brake block is connected with body and forms moment of resistance to its rotation when its thrust friction surface is engageable with friction surface of disk. Hold-down unit may be fixed in neutral position at absence of direct contact between side and thrust friction surfaces of disk and brake block. Ratio of radius of pitch circle of satellite to radius of side friction surface of disk is more than friction coefficient of this surface against thrust friction surface , thus ensuring controllability of reinforcing member. Proposed reinforcing member may be used in brakes, overrunning and safety clutches. EFFECT: enhanced controllability; protection against overloads; increased loading capacity. 7 cl, 11 dwg
