FIELD: automotive industry; vehicle brake systems. SUBSTANCE: proposed brake drum with expanding member 6 of adjustable length makes it possible to adjust clearance, as brake linings wear out, by turning gear wheel 7 set into operation by adjusting plate 51 secured on rocking lever 5. Rocking lever 5 is provided also with plate 52 to release and lock wear adjuster and which gets into engagement with gear wheel 7 in case of possibility of re-adjustment of clearance when said danger exists and precludes possibility of further turning of gear wheel under action of adjusting plate 51. EFFECT: improved reliability of brake, reduced influence of emergency application of brake onto operation of wear adjuster. 4 cl, 3 dwg
