MULTICHANNEL NO-BREAK REGULATED POWER SUPPLY Russian patent published in 2004 - IPC

Abstract RU 2221320 C2

FIELD: power engineering; multichannel no-break hardware systems regulated by electrically isolated voltages. SUBSTANCE: device has line rectifier whose ac leads are connected to ac commercial power mains and dc leads, to input leads of charge-buffer converter whose dc output leads are connected to stand-by storage battery and to inputs of dc-to-dc voltage changers whose quantity depends on number of output channels. Charge-buffer converter and voltage changers use high-frequency conversion circuit arrangement and have inverter, control unit with pulse-width modulated regulator, and transformer-rectifier unit whose transformer primary winding is connected to inverter ac leads and dc outputs of transformer-rectifier unit form output leads of device. Novelty is that voltage changers are connected into circuit with two input power feeders; to this end they are provided with control pulse switching unit and additional inverter whose input power leads are connected to output of line amplifier and to monitoring input of control pulse switching unit and ac outputs, to second newly introduced primary transformer winding of transformer-rectifier unit. Output leads of control unit are connected to inputs of control pulse switching unit whose first outputs are connected to control inputs of inverter and second outputs, to control inputs of additional inverter. As distinct from prior art, proposed device dispenses with double power conversion when feeding loads from main line, capacity of charge-buffer converter being adjusted only to value sufficient to charge storage battery and not to full power as is the case with prior art. In addition, proposed device can dispense with unit for battery disconnection from load in case of its critical discharge whereas in prior art it is used and requires full rating of device. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency, reduced mass and size characteristics. 1 cl, 1 dwg
